This course features an in-depth coverage of various topics in biocatalysis with examples of how biocatalysis has reshaped various aspects of modern industries including food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, consumer products and biomaterials. This course also provides an overview of common enzyme classes used in bioindustries with extensive discussions of their catalytic will be reviewing of important literatures, assessment of critical industrial biocatalytic processes and hands-on experience of common bioinformatic and computational tools for new enzyme discovery.
