Spring 2014

Professor: Douglas Mao

(4.88)

The best aspects of this course were the knowledgeable and effective instructor, the open and insightful class discussions, and the inclusion of the cultural background along with the texts. The chal enge of Joyce’s writing was by far cited as the worst aspect of the course, though the instructor was cited as helping students better understand the readings. Shorter and more frequent writing assignments, along with smal er classes were suggested improvements. Prospective students should know that reading Joyce is demanding, but Professor Mao makes the course enjoyable and gives excel ent insight to the material.
