Why have men dominated the history of science? Why is this still true for many STEM fields today? We will explore the answers to these questions in this course, as well as look at a broader history of women and gender in science. this class will examine how societal conceptions of gender shape scientific labor and identity. This course looks at the lives of individual women, at scientific or technical movements, and at institutions in the broader history of the United States.
