In this seminar, we will explore contemporary accounts of the nature and normativity of grief. We will consider grief’s psychological structure, its impact on human agency, and its value and norms. Though we will focus on philosophical treatments of these issues, we may also engage with relevant research in psychology, neuroscience, and AI technology.
