We often think of markets and politics as being opposed to each other, but they are not. What are the politics of the relationship between markets and the state and democracy? How is politics changing as markets become increasingly global? Can market tools be used for coercive purposes? How do markets themselves create political order? This course draws on work from international relations, economics, sociology and other disciplines to explain the politics of markets.
