Students praised the discussion-focused course’s interactive instructor and subject matter. Some students dislike the fact that the bulk of the course’s grades came at the end of the course making it hard for students to figure out what grade they would receive. Suggestions for improvement included a request by some students that students’ grades be distributed across the semester, perhaps by adding a midterm. That way, students wouldn’t have a lengthy paper and exam both happening at the end of the term. Prospective students should know that students found the course to be “excel ent” but disliked that the bulk of the course’s grades falling at the end of the course. Participation in group discussion was vital to success in the course.
