The best aspects of this course included the thorough presentation of the material, the instructor's energy and teaching style, and the lessons on psychological theories. Some students felt that the exams relied too much on memorization, the size of the class was too large, questions on the exams were sometimes vague, and that there was no grading scale or specified requirements for the essay assignment. One suggestion included implementing a clicker-based attendance policy. Other suggestions included employing practice problems, adding more class-discussions into the mix, making the slides available online, and wording the exams to make the questions less ambiguous. Prospective students should know that it’s imperative to attend every lecture, study regularly and rigorously for the exams, and make use of the extra credit assignments available.

The best aspects of this course were the interesting material, the engaging lecture style of the instructor, and the low workload. Many students noted that the course is fairly easy, with no homework and four exams of equal weight. However, the size of the class was widely rated as the worst aspect of the course, with almost 500 people in one lecture. Some suggested improvements included posting lecture notes or slides online and having a discussion section. Prospective students should know that the large class size may be intimidating, but if you attend lectures and take notes you will do well.

The best parts about this course were the clear, engaging and entertaining lectures, and the variety of topics that were covered over the course of the semester. Students praised the professor for being enthusiastic and for incorporating relevant anecdotes into lectures. This course provided extra credit for participation. Some students felt that the class size was too large. This course could benefit from providing more feedback on tests and weekly homework assignments. Prospective students should know that they will need to attend every class, and study back tests in order to do well in this class.
