This class aims at exploring Dante Inferno and its modern re-readings. Dante's Inferno with its richness of images, characters, and themes never ceased to enchant readers and artists along the centuries. Through a close reading of the most important cantos of the Inferno, this class will analyze Dante's poem and its modern interpretations in the writings of T.S Eliot, Jorge Luis Borges, James Joyce, Seamus Heaney, Primo Levi, Osip Mandelstam, Eugenio
