Students praised this course for exposing them to the art of the Golden Age of Spain as well as for covering a variety of plays. Some students found the course’s readings to be long and difficult to understand, particularly plays that were written hundreds of years ago. Suggestions for improvement included adding additional in-class assistance to better understand the plays. Prospective students should know that students found that a good grasp of the Spanish language was helpful in terms of succeeding in this course particularly since, as one student noted, “the readings are advanced like Shakespeare, but in Spanish.”
