In this course we will examine the works of the Argentine poet and short story writer Jorge Luis Borges, one of the most influential writers of the 20th-century, as a way of thinking though key problems in the philosophy of language, epistemology, the philosophy of mind, and cosmology. In addition to many of Borges’s most important stories, we will read work from thinkers like Immanuel Kant, Jacques Derrida, Martin Heidegger, and Simon de Beauvoir.
