The best aspects of this course were the interesting readings, lectures, and movies. The professor was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and was able to give very engaging lectures. The worst aspect of the course was its level of disorganization with often unfocused lectures and discussions. Students also received insufficient feedback about their work throughout the semester. The course would improve if it were more organized with a clearer syllabus and provided better guidelines or feedback on assignments. Prospective students should be sure to pay attention, do the readings, and participate in this very enjoyable course.

Many of the students enrol ed in this course loved hearing anecdotes and insightful advice from their prestigious and well-seasoned professor. Students felt like he wanted them to take away as much as possible and thought the lectures were superb. However, many students felt that the professor went off on conversational tangents and the course did not follow the syllabus at all. It was suggested that the course be more structured, a faster pace, a clearer ending goal, and more timely feedback on assignments. Prospective students do not need a background in film or acting. They just need to be ready to have fun and soak up al the knowledge the professor throws at them.

The best aspects of this course was the professor who was passionate about acting and an expert from years as a professional actor and instructor. His exams were straightforward and fair. Some students found it frustrating that exams were not returned and the instructor had a tendency to get off topic. This course could be improved by looking at more contemporary pieces, having an overall better course structure, and providing students with a clear syllabus outlining the topics that will be covered during the course. Prospective students should know that course attendance is mandatory and no prior theatre knowledge is necessary, though it may be helpful.
