Field experiences provide a way for students to apply classroom knowledge and expand their understanding of the evolution of the atmospheric, oceanic, biospheric, cryospheric, and lithospheric components of the Earth. During this course, students will be immersed in the geology of the Death Valley region, learning to make observations to infer ancient processes that influenced Earth's evolution. Students will be camping during the field course and should be prepared for daylong hiking and walking. In the case that obtaining personal field gear is not possible through Homewood student affairs gear rentals and/or is a financial hardship, please contact the instructor. Any communication about this will be kept confidential.
