creditsAverage Course Rating
In class we will go through a range of processes such as drawing, painting and installation as a means to wrestle with ideas of place. Place can be in relation to power or within one’s own environment. Students will be invited to look at text such as bell hooks “art on my mind” and Glenn Ligon’s “Housing in NY” to further their research into place. Emphasis will be placed on developing artwork both individually and collaboratively in hopes of creating community through art making processes while also expanding on ideas of what art can be through studio work and lecture.
