In this seminar, we will explore a wide variety of musics (art, folk, world, and popular) and how they record the movement of human communities. Students will gain an understanding of how music gives expression to both belonging to a place and to the experience of dis-placement arising from social, economic, geo-political, and environmental push factors. No prior musical experience necessary.
