The best aspects of this course included the small class size and the interactive dialogue between students and the professor. Students felt the professor showed a genuine interest in their language progression. The negative parts of the course were the occasional diversion from the syl abus and lack of clarity in some assignments. Students recommended incorporating more speaking practice and resources like Hindi movies to make the class more engaging. Prospective students should know that this is a great class that will offer insight into not only Hindi language, but also culture.

Students praised this course as a good introduction to Hindi. Students’ issues with the course included students thinking the course was slightly disorganized. Suggestions for improvement varied with some students wishing the course offered more time for students to learn the language and to practice the language in the class. Prospective students should know that students found the course didn’t require any prior knowledge of Hindi but that learning the language required daily dedication.

Students praised this course for having a “kind and open” instructor who created a classroom environment where students not only learned a foreign language but a culture. Perceived issues included a feeling that the course could move too quickly which was chal enging for novices. Suggestions for improvement included a general sense that the course should go at a slower pace and that the course should have a more cohesive syl abus that better communicates goals and instructions. Prospective students should know that students found the instructor to be exceptional. Students also believed that a background in Hindi was helpful to success in the course.
