This course addresses what is AI, how it developed, and how it is used in the intelligence community for national defense. This course will prepare students to better understand this exciting technology and how best to apply it for current problems. It will delve into the immense promise and power, and serious pitfalls, of AI use. The course will investigate the history of the science behind AI, its current theory, different models of usage, how it is being used, and ethics and national policy. In particular, the course will focus considerable attention on AI as used in intelligence analysis. The course will also look to the future of human interface with AI.
