Marketing is uniquely placed to make society better. Despite the economic advancements, the world continues to face a myriad of problems not limited to poverty, insecurity, injustice, disease, climate change, pollution, and violence. In this course, students will examine mainstream marketing topics through the better world perspective. The course adopts an active learning model wherein students will learn how marketing can be used to create positive societal impact. It explores how organizations can align their marketing strategies with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and in so doing facilitate marketing actions that will be beneficial to multiple stakeholders.
