The Healthcare Real Estate (HRE) course focuses on four of the major “food groups” of HRE: (1) Medical Office, (2) Life Sciences, (3) University Medical Centers (4) Senior Living. Each of these property types will be analyzed from both the perspective of a health care system as owner and that of a private investor. For each property type, we will focus on how key factors such as demographics, healthcare reform, outpatient services, and medical advances drive the demand and valuation for healthcare properties. We will also examine emerging trends in HRE, such as urgent care clinics, stand-alone emergency rooms, and micro hospitals.
