The course begins by introducing students to basic computing concepts and Java language syntax using structured and procedural programming approaches and then proceeds to cover object-oriented programming concepts and techniques. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to and are expected to follow programming best practices. There will be textbook reading assignments each week and occasional supplemental readings, which will be posted as part of the course materials. There will also be weekly programming assignments, several mini-projects throughout the semester, and a final exam.
