This course provides a comprehensive, data-driven examination of how sustainability and ESG factors redefine modern business strategy. Students will learn to manage the transition toward a sustainable economy by embedding these concerns across all corporate functions. The course offers an in-depth look at strategic, tactical, and operational business aspects of sustainability, including decarbonization strategies, regenerative and ethical sourcing, energy asset transformation, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure management, and impact investing along with more holistic concepts such as the circular economy, biomimicry, and industrial symbiosis. We also explore the role of emerging technologies including AI, IoT, and blockchain in creating transparent and smart business models through cases and simulations from various industries and countries. The students will also become familiar with greenhouse gas accounting, life cycle assessment, and other quantitative methods used to make data-driven decisions about sustainable practices.
