This course is designed to develop the leadership capacity of students to be expert leaders in schools, clinical mental health agencies, professional associations, or private practices. Students will engage in a thorough examination of theories and models, practical strategies, and collaborative principles of leadership in the context of counseling. Through intense research and personal reflection, students will develop a holistic and theoretical grounding of a leadership framework. Emphasis is placed on the role of leaders as systemic change agents. Students will apply these theories and frameworks to further develop interventions focused on ameliorating factors related to their Problem of Practice (POP) project.
