In this first-year seminar, students will explore the development of print media from the earliest printing presses to AI-generated journalism. Along the way, they will consider the connection between innovation in print technologies and social change. Students will interview visiting experts, discuss relevant TV and film depictions of print journalism, and visit the printing presses at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
