This seminar uncovers the connections between materials, microscopy, and museums. Topics covered include, but are not limited to materials in art and its restoration (including techniques), archeological materials and historical artifacts covering metallurgy and ceramics, and finally, minerals, gems, and space materials. Guest speakers from the Walters, MICA, the Smithsonian, the Field Museum, and other museums will be featured.
