The best aspects of this course included the brilliant and knowledgeable professor, as well as the wide range of biomaterial topics covered. The homework assignments were very helpful in learning the content. The worst aspects of the course included the lengthy homework assignments and questionable grading system that was established in the class. The course would improve if the students had better feedback on the homework and tests in order for them to know how to improve and to understand where their grades were coming from. Prospective students should be prepared to spend time with the homework assignments and supplemental readings that will help them perform well on the exams.

Students thought that the best aspect of this course was the professor. He was knowledgeable about the subject and was able to keep students interested by relating everything to applications in every-day life. Students found the subject matter, especial y polymers, extremely interesting and engaging, although some of the students found the concepts difficult to fol ow and understand. Other students did not like how in-depth the exams were, and believed that it would have been beneficial to have more examples done in class. Students also suggested improving the sound quality of the podcasts, and wanted additional materials made available online for study reasons. Prospective students should expect to work hard and attend every lecture in order to take notes.

Students thought their favorite element of this course was the engaging subject matter delivered by an instructor who explained concepts with clarity. Students found that their least favorable aspect of the class was the homework assignments and quizzes which they found overly chal enging. Students thought the course could be improved with the addition of more practice problems provided in class. They also thought the course could benefit from more detailed PowerPoint slides incorporated into lectures. Students thought it was important for potential participants to know that background knowledge in organic chemistry would be useful for taking this course.
