The central goal of this course is to provide an overview of clinically motivated problems in Neuroengineering as well as strong hands on experience in conducting translational research. While Neuroengineering principally involves development of new technologies, a desirable goal is to make the technology available for experimental basic science research and clinical translation. An accompanying toal is translating for industrial and then eventually clinical use. Students will receive case study introductions to several translational projects, accompanied by lectures and experimental demonstrations or clinical observations by Neuroenginieering faculty and their clinical collaborators. Potential outcomes are to find exciting research problems, learn about innovative technologies, and developing a roadmap to their translation. This course will be grades S/U.
