Artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed nearly every aspect of modern life. Tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini have greatly expanded human capability, but they also raise critical questions about privacy, accessibility, ethics, and human agency. This course introduces the emerging field of human-centered, an approach that integrates human values, design principles, and technical understanding to ensure AI systems are useful, usable, and responsible. Through a combination of lectures, guest talks, hands-on projects, and in-class activities, students will explore key dimensions of human-centered AI: human aspects, technical aspects, human–AI interaction, special domains. In addition, the course features interactive workshops introducing tools and frameworks essential to human-centered AI practice, such as Figma, React, and the OpenAI API. Students are expected to have foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts, programming, and human-centered design or behavioral science.
