The overall objective of this course is for students to learn about state-of-the-art research in dialog systems, particularly focused on deep learning methods. Students will also learn how to read and navigate academic literature. The class will be centered around a 2-3 person project, with presentations/demos at the end of the semester. Students are expected to read, write, and review workshop-level academic papers.
