As a critical component of human-computer interaction, conversational user interfaces (CUIs) have the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with technology. This course is designed for graduate students who want to gain a deeper understanding of CUIs and their real world applications. Throughout the course, students will explore cutting-edge research and methodologies for designing, implementing, and evaluating CUIs. Various forms of conversational interface will be covered, including chatbots, voice assistants, and multimodal dialogue systems. Coursework will include short open-ended assignments focused on applying methods learned in class, reading recent papers, and a course project.
