Are you starting up your own company? Designing a device or an app you want to sell? Trying to change the world through a social enterprise? This class will Designed to help entrepreneurs, designers, and other innovators learn how to pitch their ideas to VIP stakeholders. Working in this class will create a practice-intensive environment, where students can will learn how to refine their skills in a variety of contexts/venues, polish their networking skills, and get feedback mentoring from key stakeholders in JHU's entrepreneurial ecosystem, and sharpen their value propositions. Scenarios/topics include honing/refining your message, building compelling slides, pitching in short- and long-form, shark-tank and hack-a-thon practice, increasing networking skills, and working with stage fright. While we will spend some time learning how to refine ideas, students must bring a clear idea, venture, app, device, or social enterprise that they can work with for the duration of the course. Students from the same team may take the course, but each student must do individual work.
