Professional work has become increasingly collaborative, now to the point where over half of most days is spent in collaborative activities. And with increasingly complex challenges to face, organizations are fielding multi-disciplinary teams to tackle issues and find answers. However, for such teams to perform effectively, members require skills beyond those typically expected of work teams because the new teams include members from different disciplines, who represent diverse stakeholder organizations, often with divergent cultures and perspectives. This course explores the skills necessary to lead and thrive on such teams. Taught as an experiential seminar, participants explore critical topics including among others, empathy, methods of respect and inclusion, and translating information for multiple discipline.
