This course is one of the core courses for the master’s in medical physics program. The course will cover the fundamental principles of radiation protection and safety. Topics to be covers within the course: principles of radiation protection, radiation units, radiation measurements, practical aspects of the use of radionuclides, ionizing radiation and public health. It will also cover the regulations regarding personal radiation protection and will include radiation shielding of x-ray facilities.
