Animal Modeling of Nausea

The student will become experienced with cutting-edge methods to model nausea, as a prototypical disorder of gut-brain interaction mediated by the sensory vagus nerve, using laboratory mice. He will gain hands-on experience working with mice, from a surgical perspective, and studying their nausea-related behaviors. He will also participate in manipulations of this model to study treatments for nausea which could be directly applicable to clinical practice.
