TRPV4 channelopathies are inherited neurodegenerative disorders of motor neurons and peripheral nerve. To investigate pathomechanisms and therapeutic strategies for these disorders, we have generated a series of mouse models expressing human disease-causing TRPV4 mutations. The goal of this tutorial is for the student to learn and perform experimental protocols for motor behavioral, biochemical, and immunocytochemical approaches that will assist in the characterization of TRPV4 mutant mice.
