Clinical and Research Experience in Plastic Surgery. The student may spend an average of 3-6 hours per week (flexible scheduling) over the semester in an individualized combination of practical experience in academic plastic surgery, including shadowing in outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, operations in the operating room, and playing a lead role in clinical research projects of his/her own design or by design of the research team (based on student’s preference).
