The Sickle Cell Center for Adults (SCCA) is a model infusion center at JHH improving access to care for adults with sickle cell disease, a debilitating illness that affects predominantly African Americans. Tasks include assistance with data entry/analysis; preparing publications; and shadowing in the SCCA, inpatient service, and patient home visits with a community health worker. Timely work and active participation in patient interactions for 4-5 hours/week will earn a satisfactory grade.
