Over the course of the program, the students will be introduced to a multifaceted approach to identify genetic variants responsible for the inherited eye disease and various laboratory techniques commonly used in genetic analysis including but not limited to genome-wide linkage analysis, next-generation sequencing, etc. An important element of the program is the preparation of an abstract for presentation at scientific symposium and/or a manuscript for submission to scientific journals.
