Differential Diagnosis of Mental Disorders

This course uses a case-based approach to learning differential psychiatric diagnosis. Students develop advanced skills for the differential diagnosis of mental disorders, including observational and interviewing skills, and the use and interpretation of screening tools, laboratory tests, and behavioral assessments. Case studies will utilize the most current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM 5) and other appropriate nosological methodologies for diagnosis.
