This course provides the student with evidence-based clinical management strategies for HIV and HIV/AIDS. The course will examine diagnostic testing and clinical management strategies for opportunistic infections, common co-morbid conditions, as well as chronic health conditions resulting from HIV therapy. Prevention techniques including, antimicrobial prophylaxis, and risk-reduction interventions will be discussed. Case studies will be used to facilitate clinical reasoning and to solidify clinical content.
