This course will provide an in depth exploration of mixed method designs that combine qualitative and quantitative data to address complex research questions relevant to the health sciences. Focus will be on the assumptions underlying mixed methods approaches, appropriate uses of mixed methods designs, strategies for integrating qualitative data with quantitative data in meaningful ways, and critically analyzing the quality and rigor of mixed methods studies.
