Explores how economic development affects global burden of disease and human capital. Focuses on the relationship between economic growth, health, human capital achievement, and socioeconomic inequalities in health. Divides into three parts; the first part examines the effect of wealth on health, as well as, how better health influences human capital and income. Examines socioeconomic inequalities in health, primarily focusing on theories of how income inequalities affect health, and the measurement of socioeconomic inequalities in health in the second part. Examines policy strategies to improve investments in human capital and reduce income inequalities in the third and last part.
