Prompts students to think like decision-makers and frame real-world policy and management solutions to improve care, control costs, and meet the growing demand for care and services imposed by "baby boomer" retirements and brisk population growth. Topics include: the supply/demand, specialty mix, and geographic distribution of health professionals; the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the health workforce; employment disparities in gender, race, compensation, and promotion; the scope, quality, and cost for health care/services; and the use of teams to achieve better health and timely access to care.
