Addresses the rapidly changing landscape of the study of complex genetics diseases. Explores the current state of the quantitative issues in complex disease genetics, so that they can translate their experiences into research practice. Analyzes genome-wide association scans, epigenetics, and next-generation sequencing, as well as approaches to power calculation, including the use of simulation. Studies the current literature as well as examples from real data sets. Becomes familiar with the assumptions and limitations of these approaches, in addition to learning the analytic techniques.
