Morning technique classes, taught by an esteemed guest faculty, will concentrate on ballet, pointe, men’s class, partnering, and modern dance. The afternoon workshops will include: learning existing ballet and modern dance repertory; music for dancers; improvisation/composition; and finally, the setting of an original ballet on the Beyond Technique dancers by the gifted young choreographer Durante Verzola. Applications Students must apply for acceptance; applications will be available from the Peabody Dance office starting on March 1, 2017. Interested students will also be required to submit two photos (first arabesque and tendu croisé devant) and one letter of recommendation from a current teacher or artistic director. Those accepted from the pool of Beyond Technique applicants will be asked to complete an audition in person at Peabody’s dance studios, or, if necessary, to submit a video audition. Housing will be available on Peabody Conservatory’s secure campus with supervision provided by Resident Assistants.
