Ankush Bahl, Conductor and Director. Open to advanced musicians in all strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion of middle through high school age. The Peabody Youth Orchestra is the premiere advanced ensemble in the Preparatory Orchestra program, concentrating on standard orchestral repertoire in a high level learning and performing experience. Two or three full-length concerts are given each year, including performances with faculty and guest artists as well as the winner of the Preparatory Concerto Competition. Membership is by audition only and previous orchestral experience is required. Everyone is welcome to audition for the Peabody Youth Orchestra whether or not the student studies at the Preparatory. Only students in individual instruction at the Preparatory are eligible to participate in recitals and competitions, including the Concerto Competition. An additional $20 non-refundable materials/activities fee per semester will automatically be charged with registration."
