This course is intended for all non-vocal emphasis, music education majors. This course will cover the basics of learning how to breathe and phonate correctly while singing and speaking. Additionally, students will learn the anatomy of the vocal mechanism, how the body works to produce sound, and vocal faults frequently experienced by teachers. By the end of this course, students will be equipped with the knowledge of how to breathe, phonate, and resonate correctly to better participate in degree-required classes, prepare for their practicums, and inform their teaching practices.
