The class will explore the ways in which successions of tones – from simple phrases to whole movements – can come to life in the most musical, most moving, most beautiful way. How do pitch, harmony, rhythm, volume, tone color, balance, and tempo contribute to an optimal experience. Student projects will involve solo and chamber performances.
