Addresses topics similar to those of International Monetary Theory, but makes greater use of quantitative methods and covers the material more rapidly and deeply. Emphasizes developing a familiarity with the tools and analytical techniques used by economists in making policy recommendations. Covers the basic theory of international macroeconomics. Main objective is to develop an understanding of the workings of the international monetary system and a conceptual framework for analyzing macroeconomic policy in an open economy.
