This course critically examining China's rapidly growing economic, political and social ties with African countries. What drives these ties? How do they reflect China's "Going Global" thrust? What impact is Chinese engagement having on development prospects in other countries? What is myth, and what is reality? How is this engagement changing? Comparisons with Chinese engagement in Asia and the Americas.
