This course on the new strategic context in the Eastern Mediterranean will cover regional and international dynamics in a rapidly changing region. In addition to Turco-Greek tensions and the relevance of recent developments such as Syria's regime change, the weakening of Russia's regional influence, and Israel's wars in Lebanon and Gazza, the course will also look at whether the European Union can play a more active role in the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly in the current context where the American role in NATO is diminishing.
