The course aims at developing an encompassing knowledge of the strategies, processes and outcomes of social movements in the digital age. To do this, classes explore past movements, contrasting them with the most recent ones. At the end of the course, students will be able to: (1) discuss the main approaches related to the social movements, (2) evaluate processes and strategies of social movements across different countries and different territorial levels; (3) assess various types of social movements’ outcomes at the political, cultural and biographical level (4) compare specific cases of social movements with regard to their strategies, processes, and outcomes.
